2017 Coaches Welcome

January 30, 2017

To all players; current and new, welcome to Season 2017, a year in which the female football landscape is going to change forever. The introduction of the new AFL Women’s League is one of the most exciting things to happen in Australian Sport for many years. It means that our game of Australian Rules Football will receive unprecedented exposure and promotion on the National stage, and I’m confident this is going to lead to an explosion in participation at grass roots level.

The Perth Angels Football Club is ideally placed to take advantage of this renewed interest in the game and warmly welcomes all new players, young and old. Perth Angels is an inviting, friendly, inclusive family club that is expanding each year. You do not have to had played football before to get involved in the game, you just need to be interested in having a go, and we can teach you the rest.

We train twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.00 – 7.30pm and everyone is welcome to come down for a try. We cater for Youth Girls (15 to 17) and Senior Women (18+) and could be looking at nominating 3 teams this year, depending on team numbers. Aside from the on-field stuff, we have a great social off-field program as well, so regardless of your ability, there is something for everyone.

Perth Angels are linked with the Perth Football Club in the WAFL and we play our home games in Sundays at Lathlain Park. Our fees are kept to a minimum and are very favourable, compared to other sports.

Last year, we had an amazing run, with both Reserves and Youth teams playing finals and the atmosphere around the club was brilliant, and we are looking to go one step further this year. So, if you have ever thought a

bout giving AFL footy a go, 2017 is the year to do it! Go to the contacts page and call our President or Vice President about training information. Register now so you don’t miss out! Our pre-season program is on the website, but everyone is welcome at the Angels. I look forward to seeing you at training!
